Connor Hawley – Connor has been the field and research technician with DFWT since 2021. He monitors local waterfowl, bats and songbirds across farms in Delta, Richmond and Abbotsford throughout the year. His research projects at DFWT have focused on how to use audio recorders to monitor wildlife in new ways that can’t be done with in person surveys.

Dr. Tony Redford – Originally from Kamloops, BC, Tony grew up, and completed his BSc in Animal Biology at Thompson Rivers University. He then headed out to Saskatchewan to complete the DVM program at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, and followed that up with graduate studies and an MVetSc in anatomic pathology at the WCVM. During his time at the WCVM, Tony spent five summers studying and working at the BC Ministry of Agriculture Animal Health Centre in Abbotsford, BC. He became an avian pathologist at the AHC in 2016. Tony is also a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. His primary work is focused on the diagnosis of disease in various avian species including domestic poultry, companion birds and free-ranging birds, but also includes disease surveillance, mitigation of zoonotic and foodborne pathogens, and poultry extension work.
